Landing Med and Iraq Sign Strategic Partnership for AI Cervical Cancer Screening

    On April 11, 2025, the "Landing–Iraq AI Cervical Cancer Screening Strategic Cooperation Signing Ceremony" was successfully held at Landing Med's headquarters. During the event, experts from both China and Iraq engaged in in-depth discussions on the application of artificial intelligence in cervical cancer screening. The two sides signed a letter of intent, marking a key milestone as Landing Med's AI-powered screening technology officially begins supporting Iraq's cancer prevention and control efforts.

    The dialogue was opened by Mr. Xu Xiangzhong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the Wuhan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. He warmly welcomed the Iraqi delegation and emphasized Wuhan's strong medical and technological foundation, which provides a solid platform for such international cooperation. Dr. Sun Xiaorong, founder of Landing Med, led the delegation on a tour of the company and introduced Landing's latest innovations in AI cervical cancer screening, including their advanced all-in-one portable digital pathology slide scanner.

    "Iraq's healthcare system has long been under enormous pressure. The efficiency and accuracy of Landing's technology left a deep impression on us", said Dr. Ali Hussein Alwan, Director of Iraq's Oncology and Genetic Research Center. He expressed hope that this partnership would bring Landing's technology to Iraq to improve diagnostic capabilities.

    Dr. Hameed Fadhil Hasan of Mustansiriyah University highlighted his institution's strong academic foundation and advanced biomedical programs. He noted that cancer rates in Iraq have risen due to residual radiation pollution from past conflicts and expressed optimism that Landing's proven "Hubei Model" could help establish a precise and efficient screening system, utilizing advanced tools like high throughput cytology slide scanner and ensuring access to quality cytology consumables, to safeguard the health of Iraqi women.

    At the close of the conference, representatives from both sides signed a cooperation agreement, officially launching the implementation of Landing Med's AI cervical cancer screening solution in Iraq. This collaboration not only aligns with the Belt and Road Initiative but also reflects the global responsibility undertaken by Chinese healthcare technology companies.


    As a pioneer in AI-based cervical cancer screening, Landing Med has already implemented its technology in 15 countries and reached cooperation agreements with over ten others, including Morocco, Peru, and Brazil. More than 100 medical experts from over 60 countries have visited the Hubei region for site inspections, including distinguished guests such as the Ambassador of Pakistan to China and the Medical Advisor to the President of Zambia—affirming the project's international influence. Through its active participation in dozens of international academic forums and pathology conferences, Landing Med continues to contribute Chinese innovation to the global fight against cervical cancer.


    The signing ceremony with Iraq marks another significant milestone in Landing's international journey. Moving forward, Landing Med will further leverage technological innovation to deepen global healthcare cooperation—empowering AI screening as a bridge across cultures and contributing to the building of a global community of health for all.
